Order Lifecycle & Development Process

Step 1: Deposit & Order Confirmation
Once the deposit has been received, the order is confirmed and production planning begins.

Step 2: Customer Information & Measurements (1–5 days)
WorkshopJackal will contact the customer to collect any required measurements, specifications, design preferences, and other necessary information. The customer is expected to respond within a reasonable timeframe to avoid delays.

Step 3: Materials Sourcing (if required) (up to 1 month)
Where specific materials are required, WorkshopJackal will source and purchase them. Timeframes may vary depending on supplier availability and material specificity.

Step 4: Development & Production (1 week to 1 month depending on complexity)
Production begins once all information and materials have been confirmed. Timelines are estimates and may vary depending on complexity, workload, and material requirements.

Step 5: Final Review & Completion
Once the item is completed, WorkshopJackal will contact the customer to confirm completion and request final payment. Shipping or collection will then be arranged.

Approximate timeline ~ 1-3 Months

Terms & Conditions

1. Pricing & Deposits
All items are priced as a total cost. A deposit is required to begin work. This deposit forms part of the total price and is not an additional fee.

For custom or made-to-order items, the deposit is non-refundable, as it covers materials, labour, and time allocated to the project.

2. Completion & Final Payment
Upon completion of the item, the customer will be notified. The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to collection or delivery.

Ownership of all goods remains with WorkshopJackal until full payment has been received.

3. Collection Period
From the date of completion notice, the customer has 3 months to pay the outstanding balance and arrange collection or delivery.

4. Non-Payment
If the balance is not paid within the 3-month period:

  • The order will be treated as cancelled by the customer

  • The deposit will be retained to cover materials, labour, and loss of business

  • WorkshopJackal reserves the right to retain possession of the item

5. Resale & Disposal
After the 3-month period, WorkshopJackal may resell or otherwise dispose of the item.

Where an item is resold:

  • Proceeds will first be used to cover the outstanding balance and any reasonable costs (including materials, labour, and storage)

  • Any surplus remaining may be returned to the original customer upon request

For highly customised items that cannot reasonably be resold, WorkshopJackal reserves the right to dispose of the item without obligation of resale.

6. Communication
WorkshopJackal will make reasonable efforts to contact the customer regarding completion, payment, and collection. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure their contact details are accurate and up to date.

7. International Orders, Taxes & Duties
For orders shipped outside the European Union, the customer is solely responsible for any import duties, tariffs, customs charges, VAT, or other taxes imposed by the destination country.

WorkshopJackal has no control over these charges and they are not included in the item price or shipping cost. Any delays caused by customs clearance are also outside WorkshopJackal’s control.

8. Design Variation & Handmade Disclaimer
All items are handmade and unique. Minor variations in colour, texture, finish, stitching, or form are normal and expected. These variations are not considered defects. Final products may differ slightly from reference images, sketches, or prior examples.

9. Changes After Order Is Placed
Any requested changes after a deposit has been paid may result in additional costs and/or extended delivery times. WorkshopJackal reserves the right to refuse changes once production has progressed beyond a reasonable stage.

10. Shipping, Delivery & Risk
Postage is the primary method of delivery for all goods. However, by mutual agreement, items may also be collected in person at a pre-agreed location or event that both WorkshopJackal and the customer are attending. Any such arrangement must be agreed in advance in writing.

Once an item has been dispatched to the courier or delivery service, risk passes to the customer. WorkshopJackal is not responsible for loss, delay, or damage in transit unless insurance has been explicitly agreed and purchased. Customers must ensure accurate delivery details are provided.

11. Missed Pickup / Event Collection
Where collection has been agreed at a specific event or mutual pickup location, the customer is responsible for attending at the agreed time and place. If the customer fails to attend or is unable to collect the item at the agreed time, WorkshopJackal is not obliged to wait indefinitely or re-deliver the item.

In such cases, WorkshopJackal may require the customer to arrange alternative delivery at their own cost, or may treat the item in accordance with the non-collection and storage provisions of these terms. Reasonable attempts will be made to contact the customer to rearrange collection.

11. Materials Variation (Leather Goods)
Due to the natural nature of leather and other materials used, variations in grain, markings, scars, tone, and texture are inherent and do not constitute defects. Each piece is individually unique.

12. Returns & Refunds
As all items are custom-made or made-to-order, returns and refunds are not accepted once production has begun or the item has been completed, except where required under applicable consumer protection law. This does not affect your statutory rights.

13. Defects & Repairs
Customers must report any genuine manufacturing defects within 14–30 days of receipt. Normal wear and tear is excluded. Where a valid issue is identified, WorkshopJackal may offer repair, replacement, or another appropriate remedy at its discretion.

14. Intellectual Property
WorkshopJackal retains full rights to all designs, patterns, techniques, and concepts used in the creation of items unless otherwise agreed in writing. Customers may not reproduce or commercially replicate designs without permission.

15. Portfolio & Marketing Use
WorkshopJackal reserves the right to photograph and use images of completed items for portfolio, marketing, and promotional purposes unless the customer explicitly requests otherwise in writing prior to production.

16. Production Timelines & Delays
Estimated completion times are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to material availability, workload, or unforeseen circumstances. WorkshopJackal is not liable for reasonable delays.

17. Communication
WorkshopJackal will make reasonable efforts to contact the customer regarding all stages of the order. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure contact details remain accurate and to respond within a reasonable timeframe.

18. Right to Refuse Work & Order Cancellation
WorkshopJackal reserves the right to refuse any order or decline to proceed with any commission at its sole discretion and for any reason.

In the event that WorkshopJackal chooses not to proceed with an order after a deposit has been taken and before completion of the item, the deposit will be refunded in full to the customer. No further obligation will be owed by either party.

19. Client Conduct, Communication & Breakdown
WorkshopJackal reserves the right to pause, suspend, or cancel any order if a customer becomes unresponsive, repeatedly fails to provide required information, or engages in abusive, threatening, or unreasonable behaviour.

If communication breaks down during the order process, WorkshopJackal will make reasonable attempts to contact the customer using the provided contact details. If no response is received within a reasonable timeframe, the order may be paused or treated as cancelled.

In cases of cancellation due to client conduct or communication breakdown, WorkshopJackal may retain the deposit to cover time, materials, and administrative costs already incurred, unless otherwise required by law.

20. Agreement
By placing an order and paying a deposit, the customer agrees to these terms.
